Summary: Effective April 1, 2008, Texas Department of Insurance Procedural Rule 24 "P-24" requires title agent in Texas ordering Title Evidence from other licensed agents and desiring to split premiums other than those set out in the rule must a have a Prior Written Agreement in place at least ninety (90) days prior to closing.
Prior Written Agreements can only be used for transactions greater than $125,000 statewide; or, transactions $125,000 or less, when agents are licensed in the same or contiguous counties; and, all payments must be remitted no later than the 30th day after the date of recording by the county clerk. |
